ABOUT THE PROJECT
Material Digital Twin (MDT) aims to revolutionise material management in the construction industry by promoting material circularity through advanced data usage. By integrating Industry 4.0 technologies, the project develops an innovative workflow that allows for continuous traceability and efficient reuse of materials throughout all phases of the construction process. This is achieved by ensuring dynamic data access and sharing among various operators, machines, and stakeholders, thereby improving efficiency and sustainability in the construction sector.
MDT enhances interoperability, communication, and collaboration by providing real-time material and operational information acquired from physical construction processes. This information is critical in decision-making regarding maintenance, use and future reuse of employed building components.
